Bertie.

This story sounds a bit sad Ruby.

Has anyone else read an animal story ? – I’m not counting Mrs. H. and Tim the dinosaur.

Keep up the good work.

Summer Reading Challenge: Bertie

Today I have finished Bertie’s story by Jane Clarke. It is inspired by Battersea dogs and cats home. The book is about a girl called Laura who adopts a little westie dog called Bertie.

Bertie was tortured by his owner before Laura and left by Battersea in the night. This is a very good story and I highly recommend it! On a scale of 1-10 I give this book an 8.

Summer Reading

Well done Ruby.

I’m glad you enjoyed Charlotte’s Web, I wonder if any of our other bloggers have read it too.

I look forward to seeing what you read next.

TIM

My Summer Reading Challenge book 3 is called TIM: Defender of the Earth by Sam Enthoven.┬áTim is a T-Rex, over 100 foot tall and only a teenager! A mad scientist is threatening the world and it is up to Tim and a stroppy boy to save mankind – no pressure then.

It was great fun and very exciting in places.

Charlotte’s Web

Today I have finished Charlotte’s Web. It was about a pig, called Wilbur, who makes a friend spider, called Charlotte, they go on many adventures. I loved this book and on a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 10! What a great read! It would highly recommend this book for ages 10-100!

Summer Reading Challenge

Off to a good start – I’ve read my first 2 books.
‘Robin Hood V The Plague Undead’ was a good story with strong characters and very gruesome bits. Not my thing but I wanted to try something different!
My second book was more my thing. ‘Brightly Woven’ by Alexandra Bracken is a story about magic and wizards, bad guys and people we are not sure about yet. The book was really gripping and I finished in a few days. Try it.

Shaun the Sheep

I read this book from the library called Shaun the Sheep: the movie book and when I got nearly to the end I started crying because the sheep and farmer nearly died, but I think children should read it.

Not good

I have recently finished Lucky Star. Personally, I think it was a bad book, I would not recommend it to any other yellow level readers.

Summer Reading Challenge

I’m going to be reading 6 books to do my own Summer Reading Challenge.
My first 3 are ‘Princess Academy’ by Shannon Hale, ‘Tim’ by Sam Enthoven and ‘Robin Hood V The Plague Undead’ by James Black.
Tim is a T-Rex that the scientists have been messing with and the Robin Hood one is sooo not my usual kind of book, but I thought I should give it a try.
I’ll post what I think of them in a few weeks.
